What's a Bughcawe?
Hello World!
My name is Rebecca and the name “Bughcawe” was a nickname given to myself back circa. 2008 by some friends, it was derived from Becca and it sort of just… stuck.
In the years that followed as social media started to gain some traction – it ended up being my user name for all the things from Facebook to Instagram and it’s still my handle for most things today.
Back in 2017 I attended post secondary school for New Media Design and it was then used to create the original Bughcawe Designs concept which at the time I was hopeful would grow into my own web design and development business.
After I finished school, I fell into another career entirely and although I loved working digitally and have created several websites over the years (including this one!) – my full time career in early childhood education has been where my heart is.
While I didn’t turn my post secondary educational background into a full time career creating logos and designing and developing websites as I’d hoped – it does give me an edge in the custom apparel (and more) market. I love to create and seek to share that with the world at every opportunity. It’s part of the reason why I love being an early childhood educator so much!
Bughcawe Designs is now a small home based family business run by myself and my mom and sometimes with the help of my kids too.
I think humanizing is important in a digital age (and pandemic) where personal relationships are minimal. We’re in a world where people forget to connect, don’t disconnect from electronics, are rude to the people in the check out lane or passing by on the street just because.
I like to have a human aspect to my interactions, after all – you’ll be trusting us with your creations – why not get to know the people behind it? I’ve heard all sorts of stories and have had all sorts of precious memories shared with me over the years while creating for people – whether it was something I’ve crochet, painted or digitally designed for them.
I consider myself to be a Jack (or Jill) of all trades, master of none although I constantly strive to perfect the crafts and hobbies I do have. I’ve already shared a few, but some of the things I’ve dabbled in include crochet, painting, resin art, precious stone wire wrapping, metal stamping and digital design to name a few… are we sensing a theme yet?

I am a daughter, mother (to 3 amazing small humans), friend, educator and crafter. I love animals, movies, bright colors and things that make me happy dance. I collect weird things and I have a special interest in neurodivergent minds and am LGBTQ+ friendly!
I am an honors graduate from a program for New Media Design. I competed in Skill Manitoba for post secondary Web Design & Development and placed Bronze in 2018.
Born, raised, living and working out of Winnipeg, MB.
We have a plethora of pets (some of which are rescues) and between my 3 kids, working in early childhood education and tending to the pets – life can get a little hectic as it is.
So of course I said to my self, “self – lets add more to that, like a home business because you don’t have enough going on”.
Totally logical.
We can help with literally anything ranging from graphic design to web design and development to custom logos to apparel and much more!

We are constantly working hard to add to the products available. If you don’t see what you’re looking for, ASK US! We are always willing to find materials and try new projects.
How do you get your pricing?
We try to keep our pricing low and competitive based on current market for similar products in our area. We check out competitors of similar items but we also need to factor in time and materials.
Do plus sizes cost more?
NO! We DO NOT and never will charge extra for plus sizes.
What is a quote? Will it change?
A quote is a promise, that’s the final price. Clients are able to make changes to the order and anytime changes occur, the quote will be upodated accordingly and the client updated. The prices will never increase from the original quote without prior communication between Bughcawe Designs and the client.
How long is a quote valid for?
Quotes are valid for 30 days from date provided
Do you offer discounts?
We can offer discounts on purchases of multiple items.
We are in the process of rolling out a random discount program. make sure you check the backside of the business card included with your order. You may have a surprise discount!
What if I have my own clothing, mugs, ect?
We offer a discount to persons wishing to provide their own products (apparel, kitchenware, ect) to be customized
Do I have to pay a despoit?
Due to the items sold being custom and not a one size fits all product, we reserve the right to ask for a non-refundable deposit at the time of order equal to half the entire order price.
When is payment due?
Payment is due at the time of pick up/delivery or we reserve the right to hold items until payment is recieved in full.
How much do I owe?
Your payment amount will the the final quoted price minus any deposit.
What forms of payment do you accept?
At this time, we accept cash or EMT (email money transfer)

Sizes and colors vary due to inventory, please inquire as to current stock available.
We strive to stock sizes up to 5X in a variety of colors.
If out of stock, we are able to order it from suppliers.
We always strive to provide high quality products.
We prefer to use Gildan brand apparel where possible, but substitutions may apply based on supply.
Manufacturer of other items may vary dependent on supply.
We may use a combination of high quality HTV (heat transfer vinyl) and infusible inks for apparel, other products may be high quality infusible inks, permanent and/or removable vinyl products.
Can you do Marvel, Disney, Sports logos or other characters?
Probably not. These are generally copyrighted images. We can not do copyrighted images.
That said, we can not individually check every submitted image for copyright infringement.
Please use common sense when submitting artwork for custom creations.
Shipping, Delivery & Pick Up
Do you ship?
At this time we DO NOT ship, but hope to at some point.
Do you deliver?
Delivery within the city of Winnipeg, MB may be available for an extra fee. We’re willing to make arrangements but fuel costs money.
Where is pick up?
Pick up is always an option from the Southdale area in Winnipeg, MB.
We can arrange and discuss specifics at the time of official order. For safety reasons – we do not give out pick up address until an order is placed and deposit is paid.
Returns & Refunds
Can I return an item and get a refund?
Personalized items are non-refundable, non-returnable.
That’s it. We make it, you’ve bought it.
Can I get my deposit back?
If you change your mind after the deposit has been paid and after the product is started or made – you forfeit your deposit.
What if the item is defective?
All items are carefully inspected prior to releasing it to the client. We also provide care instructions specific to the item with every order. Once the item is in your care, it is no longer our responsibility.
Are there any special circumstances?
Special circumstances may exist where we are able to return a product to inventory and therefore may be able to issue a refund for that returned product.
What’s the bottom line?
Refunds and Returns are at the discretion of Bughcawe Designs and we reserve the right to enforce no refunds and no returns.
